Description
Barley yellow dwarf virus-mav has isometric particles which contain RNA genome. Virus is transmitted by the aphid, M. avenae in the persistent manner, but not transmitted by mechanical inoculation or by seed. It infects cereal crops such as barley, wheat, and oats worldwide.
BYDV-mav belongs to BYDV group I which also includes pav and sgv
